It's never too late! I think the purpose of a 'Welcome Kit' is not only to get your information and services in their hands. I think a welcome kit is also to let them know that you care about their patronage and are there for them when they need you. Plus, it doesn't hurt when they find it over and over again in their 'to be filed' pile that never gets filed (and then they say 'oh yeah, I have something else s/he could do for me...'). Send her one!

This is a good idea. Most of my info is in the Client Agreement, but I do find that my clients do not really read through it all. I'm started a 15-20 minutes "new client" consultation AFTER they sign to be sure they understand all the terms and conditions, hours, rates, and billable time! I actually had a couple clients question my time concerning phone calls and emails. Hey, time is $$$, right?! Do you bill for these things?

I love the idea of a welcome kit...I am just working on putting all these things together, loved all your ideas. Something tangible and they can also show others with cards and brochures.... love it!

I agree. (Regarding sending out your w-9 form in your welcome kit) Sending out too much information prior to establishing a mutual, trustworthy relationship causes concern.

Since I use SendOutCards, I first send them a thank you card and gift for doing business with me. Then I email a Welcome kit. After 30 days I send out some promotional material and offer to do a free blog for their particular market if they do not have one. I follow up within three months for additional work. I continue to market to them and ask for referrals.

This thread has so much useful information. I have been thinking about a welcome kit but wasn't sure what all to include or how to package it. Now I know. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.
