Re: What's in your welcome kit?
About brochures: many of you include brochures. Do you use Publisher or the likes and print it out on your laser printer or do you get it professionally printed in a print house? I've been looking at business cards, letterhead, etc. packages and will get these done professionally, but brochures from the print house are a huge expense. What do you think?

Sooo,
What other way can I word out my clients, (if possible) with out making it sound like a resume?

Why not have your clients write some testimonials for you and include those instead? That would give your new clients some names to go by as well as what your clients think of you and your work.

Heike,
I use Publisher for all my brochures, business cards, etc. However, I've also found a web site you can use to publish animated brochures. Check out Yudu. All you do is upload your documents (in PDF) and Yudu will animate them for you. You can add them to your web site and include a link in your email signature. It's a great site.

Re: What's in your welcome kit?
I send out a new client welcome kit when a client signs a contract. I believe it adds a sense of professionalism and adds to the new relationship I am building with my clients. I designed and add valuable documents to my package, such as my welcome letter, my brochure and business card, hours of operation, list of equipment and software I use in my business, code of ethics and a handy list of ways the client may utilize my services.

Re: What's in your welcome kit?
I like the idea of a welcome kit, and it sounds similar to what I provide in my proposals. I think this is a good kit to have at networking events, if you have a booth setup.

Re: What's in your welcome kit?
Great ideas everyone! Nothing like being someone's client and receiving a little gift to say "Thank you for your business." I know that I appreciate it when I receive a little token from a business I use.
