But check it out, it's pretty cool.

I'm glad someone bumped this back up. I missed this link..

Thanks a bunch

Hi

Starbucks ... I just wanted to add in something that I'm hearing from my clients. We always joke so much because of my LOVE of ice coffee and latte's so Starbucks is talked about a lot.

It used to be that this was a treat, but not as much as it is now. With the economy a lot of people are trying to forego that extra Starbucks in the morning on the way to work. It really adds new meaning now. I think having these in your Welcome kit is awesome! One of my clients said that when someone walks in with a Starbucks now everyone is GREEN with envy.

Thanks!

Absolutely loving all of your ideas! I've just got my first client and I never even thought of sending a welcome pack! I got him by chance and was out of the blue, so didn't have the chance.

I'm going to take everything on board and use some of the money from my first client to put some swish packs together.

I'm so glad I found you guys! thanks

Ok forgive me for just catching up on this thread. I am new here and all this wonderful information is so much to take in.

I am just starting out my business and never thought about a welcome kit. This will really help me out with new clients. And I also LOVE the idea about sending a small token of appreciation like a Starbucks gift card. I know I would be jumping for joy if I got one of those in the mail from someone.

Thanks for all this helpful information

Hi Everyone -

I too have a Welcome Packet that I send out to potential clients and new clients. Let me define "potential" clients. These are individuals that I've communicated enough with to create a Service Proposal for that just seamed to drop off the face of the earth. I wait a month send an email reminding them of our conversation. If a response is received like "Still have not decided or I have it on the back burner for a week or so but I will get to you soon". I drop in the mail the following:

Welcome letter
Copy of Service Proposal
Standard Rate Sheet
Business Cards
Brochure
Discount Card (typically for taking advantage of my services within a timeframe)

Normally I send this by FedEX because it stays much nicer in the package.

My Welcome Packet for New Clients is a little different. It includes:

Welcome Letter
Copy of Professional Service Agreement
Customized Rate Sheet
Business Cards / Brochure
Visa Gift Card for $25
Affiliate Packet

I personally would not send a W9 to them until the relationship has had time to develop. If they have all of your legal info (like Tax ID for DBA's) and say they are not the most ethical person, you take a huge risk. Don't you think??? I like to wait until I know I have them in my hip pocket and a level of trust on both ends has been developed.

In my welcome packet, I want to add a page of Clients that I have provided services to, becuase I have several clients ask me "who have you worked for".
But, I have only had the same three clients for the past three years, and
My clients page wouldn't even be a page, it would be three lines.
Sooo,
What other way can I word out my clients, (if possible) with out making it sound like a resume?

I have been looking for a contract for new clients and I have not been able to find one. Does anyone have any suggestions?
