Starbucks ... I just wanted to add in something that I'm hearing from my clients. We always joke so much because of my LOVE of ice coffee and latte's so Starbucks is talked about a lot.
I agree! I think a Starbucks card is an awesome idea and not very costly. Nice!

I use Publisher for all my brochures, business cards, etc. However, I've also found a web site you can use to publish animated brochures. Check out Yudu. All you do is upload your documents (in PDF) and Yudu will animate them for you. You can add them to your web site and include a link in your email signature. It's a great site.
Thanks for the tip! I am going to check out Yudu right now!

I must be missing the main idea here. Why would you have a printed folder/portfolio/welcome kit made up to send via USPS? Mine are all in PDF files and I send them "virtually" via email, in "stages" of the business relationship, as needed. Did I miss what this discussion is really about?
I like your idea of using virtual media to send out information. Perhaps some clients would ignore the virtual media - and it might be a good idea to send out hard copies to certain clients that look like providing more information. When I think about it though if you send out welcome information in the form of a kit then any contact information can still be sent by client on to their contacts 'virtually' as well.
Hi Michele....I have a welcome letter with details on me and the company; a rates page; a policies page, a W2, and a service contract, all separate files in PDF. I email what is required at any given stage of a business relationship. Everyone has their own ways of doing things - the beauty of it all!
SharLynn - you are a breath of fresh air! I started to get all panicky about buying folders and mailing things out Express Post! NOT WHAT I WAS WANTING. Anyway, I think that all of the ideas are brilliant and I start thinking (as always when I am reading this forum) "Oh! Maybe I should be doing this...".
Anyway - I agree that as I am offering a virtual service, I do not think it is a bad thing to do everything virtually. GO GREEN could even be a pitch!
Also - thank you to everyone who gave an idea of what their welcome kits contain.
