I think this gets easier the more you do it too... I've talked to so many now that it's more of a conversation and less of a list of questions. Usually when I hear what they do, I can take it from there and find out more about them. Just relax and you'll do great!

Great list of questions ... one thing you want to keep in mind - it is a consult (and usually a free consult) - and the first one you're so eager because you want to make them a client (at least I was) - remember - its a consult don't try to problem solve on that one call... let them become your client and then do the work lol.

Great point. Its probably easy to get caught up in the conversation and trying to win them over that you would problem solve tooo much on the first call....

I have two clients who were my employers in the past and didn't really have to ask much, since I knew the work that had to be done. Now, with these postings, I know what I need to ask in the future.

Great responses here!
I also ask them what there top three goals are and if they've been working on anything to move toward them. It really helps me to determine what types of services they need, and suggest others that may be helpful.
Once they become a client, we review these goals on a regular basis and as we check them off, we go through the process again. It always keeps us busy!
