How to Survive the Facebook Business Page Crunch

Noticed a dramatic drop in your Facebook insights lately? Me too.
Zuckerberg is in the process of tweaking the algorithms. Have you noticed that it’s around the exact time that Facebook happened to roll out the new offers feature on our Facebook pages? Coincidence? I doubt it.
Ch,ch,ch changes
Quite a few online businesses rely solely on Facebook to bring in business and have been for a number of years. In light of the new drop in Facebook insights this says one thing to me: There are more changes to come. Paid Advertising, Promoted Posts and Offers might be limited to just business Facebook pages but they are just the beginning. Zuckerberg has more plans ahead for business pages, you can bet on it. It also says to me that you can’t put all of your eggs in one basket anymore. For your business to be successful you need to start branching out and not limit yourself to only one social media network. There are so many others out there, use them.
You also need to be actively watching your target market. Where are they hanging out these days? GO THERE TOO!
Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
Now it is more important than ever to work other social media platforms into your business’s social media marketing strategy. Personally, I am a big fan of building my email list and helping others to do the same. They are people who want to hear from me and want to know what I have to say. It is so important to make your newsletters and ezines useful, insightful and helpful, so you can build a loyal following apart from facebook and keep them. There are GREAT Contact Management Systems out there (Like Mail Chimp and Aweber) that are easy to use and maintain. Use them!
Keep finding new ways to grow your presence and connect with people.
Small businesses are feeling the crunch since Facebook rolled out the new changes. The great thing is that Facebook loves Visual Marketing. The more in the know you are about that, the more successful you'll be when it comes to reaching that audience you worked hard to gain.
Below are some tips to help you survive the new changes:
Twitter is always my first choice since whoever happens to be on there (and is following me) reads what I post. No fighting with other pages to be seen. When I post, people read it, simple as that. The great thing about twitter is that you can use hash tags . With a hash tag you are even more likely to get your content to reach a larger audience.
Looking toward the future
Pinterest is growing in popularity as well as google plus and don't forget about Linkedin. Use these platforms and you will find yourself able to reach new audiences and possibly more clients, outside of facebook.

Below are some tips to help you survive the new changes:
- Use relevant pictures with your posts as they tend to show up on people’s news feeds more often
- Create lists and add your favorite pages to them ask your fans to do the same. Offer them an incentive to make their list like a free eBook or offer.
- Direct people from your Facebook page to other social networks and of course your website – blog posts are a great example of this
- Get active on other social media networks. More on that later!
