From Oh Heck….to Tech in seven weeks
This week The Geek Labs Technical Training for Virtual Assistants began and boom! The first Lab was full of valuable, insightful, and extremely useful information that I have begun to implement into my business. I’m also looking forward to incorporating these tools and resources into my client’s projects as well.
The labs give us the training, tools and resources to be fully fledged techie VAs. It’s suitable for the newbie to the veteran and is a whole lot of fun!
Becoming a ‘Techie VA’ seemed like a natural progression for me. I love social media, I love being a VA, and I felt there was so much more out there for me to learn. I saw the course through my VA mentor Lisa and I thought “This is totally me!”
That and I’m a TOTAL geek. Have you seen my picture? I’m pretty geeky!
Tech Training for the technology challenged
Ali’s energy is amazing. She really is a tech cheerleader! She’s a wealth of knowledge and she knows her stuff. She has a great way of teaching others. She’s my go-to resource for all things technical and definitely the best teacher for any VA that’s ‘tech challenged’.
To be honest I’ve looked at other courses, but I didn’t really feel like they ‘fit’ with me and where I want to take my business. I already work with wordpress, and I’ve only just started to get into email and visual marketing. I’ve only just begun to learn how to work SEO copywriting into my own business. Alicia’s programme builds on that and takes it to a whole new level and the skills I’m learning are definitely in demand for the niche market I’ve chosen.
Here are some things I will be studying in depth over the following 7 weeks:
• Productivity tools – Cloud computing, social media management tools, project management tools and software
• Wordpress –Beginners and Advanced design
• Auto responders, Ezines and forms
• 1 Shopping cart and Paypal
• Product launches, virtual events and more
Sound like a whole load of fun? It definitely is!

I’ll be documenting my progress and sharing how I am implementing things into my business as I go. So stay tuned!
