Kylie, great interview! I loved the part where you said, "If I don't take myself seriously, who will?" I had a conversation with one of my best clients about payment. They wanted me to start on a project without payment upfront and said that they will "send it along". I had to explain that I couldn't operate in that manner and I had to be fair and maintain my payment policies, even with my best clients that pay on time. I got burned by another associate in their office so it was not easy for me to do that, but in the end, I have to take my business seriously! Great advice Kylie!

This is was a great interview. I really appreciated how you overcame the obstacle of negative family members bringing you down. It's very hard to find friends and family that can be supportive of something as important as running your own business. Also, how you had to let go of that first client even though he was a big chunk of your income. Sometimes you have to do difficult decisions like that to see bigger and better things ahead. Excellent interview, Kylie. I'm impressed that you started your business just 2 years ago, and you already have 6 associates and a full time, in-office assistant! I am just starting my VA business, and I appreciate your comments regarding thinking about yourself as a business owner, not as an employee at just another job. I believe this is crucial to the success of a home-based business.

I wish you continued success and growth in your business, and I look forward to being just as successful in mine! And congratulations on your nomination. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you win!
