Hi Theresa,
Facebook can be kind of confusing at first. The personal page can be referred to as the facebook profile where you have friends, while the business page is referred to as the fan page where you will have fans. You can only have one profile, but you can have many pages. Do not use your profile for promoting your business or you will get closed quickly. Once you set a name it cannot be changed. So you have facebook/theresasheridanenterprises as your profile and can never be changed. Once your fan page reaches 100 fan you will be able to chose a name for it as well.
When you login to facebook you will automatically be taken to the profile. Your fan pages will always be 'owned' by your profile.
To get to your page:
The bottom toolbar, far left you will see Applications, click that once.
Now click on Ads and Pages once.
You will be brought to a new page with static information.
Below the graph you will see the name of your page, click on that to go to your page.
Or you click here:
http://www.facebook.com/advertising/?pages and at the top right just below create a page it says manage, click there.
For the applications, not all applications will function with pages. The easiest way to search for applications for a page is to do this:
On your page click edit.
Now you will be taken to the admin area. You can change all aspects of your page here.
Scroll all the way to the bottom and find More Applications.
Look to the right of it, the little pencil, click once on that.
Now click Browse More.
Now you are in the applications area.
Now search for what ever application you like. Click on it and then hit add to page if you like the application.
Here is the memorable web address:
http://www.facebook.com/apps/applica...79915&ref=appd Just hit add to page, you will have to be logged in.
A few good business applications I recommend:
Extend Info: This allows you to add your own custom fields and answers, as well as HTML fields that you have full control over.
FBML: This allows you a custom HTML area where you can put what ever you like.
Selective Twitter Status: When you tweet just enter #fb at the end and it will be placed in your fan page. This way you are not cluttering your page with just conversational items but quality information.
There are also some other great ones. Here is a great post for you to read:
