I provide both as a security measure for the clients. I do NOT provide the welcoming packet until the contract is signed, but I DO include the confidentiality agreement with the welcome packet.

This post has been enlightening as I had never really thought of a "Welcoming Packet".

I need to get my forms together so if that first client comes along soon, I'll be prepared and won't be rushing to complete it.

This is yet another excellent thread.

Is there anmywhere I can access an example of the getting to know you form or would anyone mind letting me know what sort of questions you ask.

Thank you, Sarah

Will there be examples of this sort of thing in the document library which i'll be able to access after 25 posts?

Thanks Sarah

Thank you Erin, good info.

I actually saw one of your videos on Google Video, but I didn't know you were a part of this forum.

Thank you for the information. I don't have a welcome packet in place but this is a great idea.

Thanks for this info. Even though I've been in business for a little while now, I still don't have a welcome packet! I've started putting one together, but just haven't completed it yet. My current clients don't seem to care so that's probably why I haven't made it a priority yet. Soon maybe...

All these sound like great business tools. Are there templates available?

How do you actually start a welcome packet and know that you have all the right documents when you are a newbie like me.

Thank you Erin for the information and starting this thread. The contributions of ideas and suggestions is very helpful for us newbies. I hadn't thought about a welcome packet but again this forum gave me something to add to my To Do List.

Thanks,
Pamela

When starting services with a client I use both a "work to hire" service contract and a non-disclose policy. I feel it covers all grounds and gives the client ease of mind.
