Default People Per Hour
After raving about PPH I just received a scam letter from a lady by the name of Cindy Chamberlain. I'm just posting in case anyone is using PPH and comes across this lady. Before she sent me this email supposedly she was offering areal job.

Here is the email:

Hello maggie,

Sorry for taking your time again, but company faced one problem and this situation created job position I want offer you.

Company started from software development, but 6 month ago started to sell different antiques at ebay(http://sslco-ltd.com/?p=solutions - BTW its our website) - its good business.

Main problem is PayPal. PayPal is most common payment system used with ebay, but unfortunately PayPal users from Russia can withdraw money only if have USA bank account.

After consultations with international lawers we found solution - hire middle man from country where PayPal allow users withdraw money - full list is www.paypal.com/worldwide/

So now I need worker for this position, I think this job is perfect as additional cash income(it would be about $1000 - $2000/month), requirements is:
1. No criminal records
2. Verified PayPal account
3. About 1-5 hours/week
4. No experience needed - its new kind of job

Twice a day you will have to check your paypal account, whenever you receive funds from the client you will have to withdraw the funds, send us an email with the exact amount, sender information and details. in 3-5 business days you will receive funds from your paypal account to your bank account or your card. Your comission will be 5 of the amount you receive, the rest you will send to company. There is nothing difficult but it requires neatness and punctuality.

All additional costs for bank fees are paid by the company.

If this position is interesting, just let me know and fill
out(electronically, you can do it in any text editor like MS Word,Open
Word etc.) Application Form(attached to this email) and send it to my
work email: hr.cindy@sslco-ltd.com

** PLEASE **
Please let me know if this position not interesting for you, you will help me so much!
Thank You!

I took a look at PPH and even signed up. But I'm a little confused.

What is the "deposit" thing for in the proposals? I can't seem to find the explanation anywhere, and it seems to be required in order to bid. The little question mark next to it says that they recommend a deposit of 50%. Why would I have to deposit money into the bid to win the job?

Am I doing something wrong?

@ Magadline, you must tell me your secret... well done for landing the job

I'm sure the deposit refers to the person offering the job not the service provider, or at least that's how I've been using the site (?)

I thought it was for the provider too, but it won't let you bid to take the job unless you enter an amount.

@Canary, no secret, I just tried many times.
The deposit,is what the person who offers the job pays in your escrow, it's a security for the person who offers the job and for the person who provides the service. Once they pay a deposit you are able to connect with them and work, then when your work is completed you write up an invoice right from PPH and send it to the person who offered you a job, finally, the deposit is released into your PPH account.
At the top of the PPH page there's a phone number you can contact them and ask them anything you want, they're very friendly.
I hope my explanation was clear and not confusing, good luck to all of you.

Ok, so basically, the contractor is asking for a deposit before the work begins and then the rest is released after the job is done? Sorry, its almost 1:30 am and I want to be sure I'm reading it right.
