Smile What are your SEO Keywords
I thought it would be helpful to start a thread on what VAF members use for their keywords to help increase their SEO.

Here are a few to start:
  • Virtual Assistant
  • Virtual Assistant Services
  • Virtual Assistance
  • Virtual Office Support
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Virtual Secretary

Thank you for the suggestions! I've been going crazy trying to think of keywords, my work can vary so much from day-to-day that it's sometimes hard to list everything.
I got my very first response on my website this weekend, about to send my reply (he asked for resume, etc), I"m so excited I can't stand it. I've been out of work for so long, then have been trying to get my at-hom business started up and this is just what I needed. Was feeling very down. Even if I don't get the job, just knowing people are actually asking feels good. Going to go and add some of my freelance jobs to my resume and send it.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thanks and have a great week!

Marilyn

I was going to ask this same question and thought I'd check to see if it was already asked and Voila! Here it is! These are great keywords. I set up my SEO keywords this evening and had a difficult time but found that I used what was suggested here.

Here's another question... Did you set up your website as a local site or worldwide? I was going to set it locally within a 100 mile radius, but decided to set it worldwide. My initial marketing will be to local businesses. Not sure if the setting on my website matters. Any thoughts?

Marilyn, did you get the job?

Donna

Good morning,

I hope you don't mind if I use some of these keywords. I do appreciate it.

Donna, I just started my VA business last month, so I am not 100% sure if my marketing strategy is correct according to the ones who have been doing this a lot longer than myself, however, I like the worldwide stage better than keeping it local. I have already done work for clients in Australia, the U.K., Romania, and here in the states as well.

On another note, for those of you who have a Google+ business page, can you please share what "Category" you selected for your business. I don't see VA or anything close to what we do as an option.

Thanks,

Russ

Russ, how did you get your international clients? That's impressive!

I don't know anything about Google+. Is that a must have?

Hi Donna,

Thanks! I set up a Fiverr account and got my International clients this way. I have done repeated work for several already. And yes, Google+ is a must, but more importantly is LinkedIn. From all the literature I have read, the experts say that LinkedIn and Google+ are a must for growing any business these days. They both allow you to make solid business connections that you are not going to find on Facebook. I am still working on my Google+ page, but feel free to ask me any questions if you need help.

Thanks,

Russ
