Hi, I am getting ready to launch my business next Monday, 9/26. Whew! Wordpress was quite a learning curve for me. However, I was determined to learn it. I welcome your feedback on my website http://genwilva.com/

I just looked quickly at your site. From what I saw, I really liked it!
I really liked your logo, and think you did a great job designing it.
It seemed to flow well.
Again, I just looked quickly but what I saw looked great

Hi Genovia,

I just took a look at your site and this is what I thought

Your logo is great, but to me it is a little small, might want to make it larger.

Second the font size on your site made me want to run. The new recommended norm for website fonts is 16pts now. I know to some younger folks this may seem large, but if your can't get your website read your can't get clients.

Still on readability, the quote in grey and your drop down menu in grey is hard to read, you also might want to increase the menu font just a little, for the same reason stated above.

I want to commend you on the content of your site. All too often VAs create sites that simply read 'What is a VA?'. I believe that this is not always compelling enough for folks to continue reading. What you have done is to clearly show the problem and how you can provide the solution. I believe this is the formula for a good site because perspective clients can see themselves in the problems/solutions you provide. Great job with that !

The only suggestion I have is that you pump up the volume a little with more images. But this can come later and is not immediate because I feel your site is good enough to attract new clients. It will evolve over time to show more of your personality which images help to do.

Do work on the font size as Ruth suggests because it is harder to read.

The content is the most challenging to work on IMO and you have crossed that avenue successfully so now it is just a matter of dressing the site up a little more.

Genovia,

Congratulations. I know how great it feels to overcome the hurdle of learning WordPress, and having the satisfaction of knowing that your website is all your own hard work. Quite the achievement!

I agree with the previous comments and would add that personally I'm not fond of the red background. I find it hard to read the text as it is such a busy color. Also, if you remove the red background it might help your logo stand out better, which is great by the way. You could try using the dark gray color from your logo as an alternative background - just a thought.

Overall, I think you have good content, nice images and a clear layout. Well done.

Thank you for the tid bit on the font size. I was not aware of that. I may need to make that change. It does seem quite large, but I definitely can see how it would make your site content easier to read and stand out more to potential clients.

Genovia, I stopped by your site tonight and was very much impressed. You have done WordPress proud! I still have to master the art. Your site looks great and demonstrates that you have something to offer and just how your offering can be beneficial to a business owner. Great success on you journey into the VA world.

Hi Genovia,

I just wanted to say that I liked you website, you can tell you put a lot of thought into the content. I would recommend though that you rethink the grey font on the drop down list because it is quite hard to read, perhaps you could place some images as well to break up the text a little and the only other thing that comes to mind is the duplicate menu bar at the top of each page, maybe it would be more useful at the bottom once your visitor has scrolled all the way down.

I loved the flash images on your home page, they brightened up the page and the captions and text are great.

Hi,
I just took a look at your site and it looks great. I really like your logo, which I think you should make a little bigger. I also like the content, you have definitely done a great job!
Also, is the sentence Essential Administrative Support - Enhancing your business success - supposed to be within quotation marks? If so, you are missing the closing quotation, so it looks incomplete. I didn't really look through thoroughly to see if there were any spelling/grammar errors, but overall the site looks really good.
