Default Another Check Please?
I posted a few weeks back and loved the responses I've received. I have changed my site to reflect all the great feedback you ladies (and possible gents!) gave me. I have a potential client email me from a Craig's list ad and I don't want to lose the opportunity. So please keep your fingers crossed. But she said she visited my website and there wasn't much information there. Am I missing something? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I also wanted to mention that I do want to take that go daddy off but haven't figured out how to do that and haven't had time to call their customer service so if anyone knows how please let me know!

I really like the design of your site, it's refreshing and the template (or did you design it?) is lovely.

I agree with your potential client that the information is sparse - and the feedback of a website visitor is priceless so run with it! See where you can expand on your services, perhaps add a business philosophy page, any testimonials you might have (I know this one is tough if you've just opened for business), perhaps add an image of yourself and your partner on the 'about' page, spend more time going into detail about what a VA can do for the client - add more client-focused info....just a quick brainstorm...

P.S. I don't see a single whit of SEO on your site - not even a proper page title??

Thanks for your imput! It is a template but I liked the look. I am a huge novice when it comes to SEO so if you could help with that it would be fab! I don't know a thing! I guess ILm still confused on what kind of info to add.

There's a whole section on SEO right here on the boards with all kinds of tips and how-to's to help you learn.

Keep in mind that the content on your website is a major aspect of SEO - so do a bit of reading and consider keywords, etc. when adding/updating your text.

I would definitely agree with Tess about reading up on the SEO section of the forum.

Also, try adding your contact information on each page. Rather than just saying "contact us" or "email us", tell visitors how. Repeat the name of your business in your content so that it sticks in the reader's mind.

Thanks ladies! I will look up that section before I add anything to the site. Maybe I'll peruse some of your sites first as well to get an idea of what I'm obviously missing. I would love to edit my last post I HATE typos. It's going to drive me nuts! (I was using my blackberry and was caught! Still at JOB.)

hello!

i would totally agree with Tess/Agnes; however I'd also make the following changes:-
* I think the introductory paragraph needs a total makeover.
* The About Us page needs to have some background information on the business.
* rephrase "We provide a variety of services for you. Why do the work that you don't like to do? We can take care of that for you so that you can go back to running your business! Our business is your business! We offer the following services:" to "Our business is your business! We provide a variety of services, taking care of your basic administration services so that you can go back to running your business! We offer the following services:"

I hope the above help you

Well what information was she looking for that she couldn't find. I would start there in addition to what the other ladies have said. I know we've had mixed opinions on sharing rates, but sometimes that is one area that people are looking for or at least terms.. Are there a minimum amount of hours that you require of a client? Do you do hourly or just retainer? That type of information.

Good luck with your new client.

Tamika makes a great point about rates. I've noticed that my Rates pages is the 2nd most viewed page after my homepage.

Janice- I hope you've gotten inspired from visiting other VA sites. Implementing the suggestions given, would make a huge difference.
