I know I've already asked about CRM on it's own, but does anyone know of a free CRM that also has time tracking? I'm not really concerned about invoicing, just don't want to have to use multiple programs. And I have a client looking for the same thing.

vTiger does have a Timecontrol module that can be installed. However I think you have to manually enter the time, I do not think there is a "timer" function.

vTiger (installed on your website) - https://www.vtiger.com/crm/open-source-downloads/ Note: vTiger is more complicated to install if your host does not have quick install of this program. I know WebHostingHub does have a quick install for vTiger, you might want to check your cpanel.

I cannot remember if Sugar Community version has a time tracking module.

If you are looking for something for your internal use, you may want to look at some of the free Project Management software that you can install on your web host. Some of these have both PM and CRM functions. Again, check your cpanel to see if your host offers quick install of any of these programs.

I use paymo.biz for project management and time tracking its great.
At the moment I dont use crm google contacts+ google calendar helps me with that.

Shaza, thanks for your input! I too use my google contacts & calendar for lightweight CRM, but I have a client who wants something else, so the hunt continues!

Hi Sarah, I did a lot of research on this as I wanted a one-stop-shop for everything before I started offering my services. I finally decided on Basecamp for project management integrated with Paymo for the time tracking, invoicing and expenses and I love it!
Basecamp is a fantastic online collaboration tool that allows clients to respond to email threads without having to directly login to their account and it will all be recorded against the project. Also, all of the projects/tasks sync with Paymo to track time against them and directly populate the invoice. Basecamp will be $20 per month after my 60 day trial and I'll continue to use the free version of Paymo.

It looks like Bluehost offers quick install of some of these, through SimpleScripts, including vTiger, SugarCRM, FrontAccounting (pretty good bookkeeping program), Feng Office, and PHProjekt .
