Default Great Idea for 'Thank You' page
Hi!

I hope this fits this area, but I wanted to share what I thought was an excellent idea.

I confirmed my email address for a List I joined and the "Thank You" Page for doing so was the persons Facebook Page!

While I did not "Like" it I was very tempted to do so! The thought process was "I'm already here...why not?"

Great way to get Likes huh?

I thought so

Tina,

Excellent way to get likes. I recently launched a FB fanpage myself and I am currently up to 50 or so "likes". However, it was time consuming and monotonous. This way sounds great. What is this "list" you talk of and wondering, how they would link the two. Thanks for the information though, I will look into it as well.

Nick

You're welcome Nick!

The List I am talking about is their Email/Contacts List (I think he used MailChimp).

So someone fills out his Opt-in Form (he's launching a new website, so he asks "If you want to know when the site goes Live, give me your name and email address"). He is building his mailing list that way.

All the email services (i.e. MailChimp, Aweber, 1ShoppingCard, etc.) have it where when someone "Confirms" their email address (which means they clicked a link in an email that was sent to them after the filled out the Form saying "This is a real email address" and "Yes, it is OK for you to email me" - Important because you don't want to ever be flagged as a SPAMMER or someone that sends unsolicited email), you have the option to send them to any Page (automatically). This is called your "Thank You" Page.

Most people literally say "Thank you for confirming you want my information", but instead, this is where he sent me to his Facebook Page (in lieu of a 'traditional' Thank You page).

I hope I answered your question If not let me know.

Best

Yes! Excellent idea. I could totally use that for a newsletter I'm building now.

I never would have thought of that! But I definately will now! I know that a lot of VAs in my local area aren't doing this so anything I can do differently I'm onboard. Besides, I believe I need to give my facebook a little love. It has been pretty lonely on there since I've been focused more on twitter and pinterest!

I LOVE this idea, thank you for sharing it - what a great way to avoid 'wasted space' and time with a traditional 'Thank you' page. You're providing someone who was already interested in what you have to offer another way to stay connected - love it!

I also really like the idea and will probably implement for some of my clients. But I have a question. Unless I'm misunderstanding, you are taken to the FB page with the opportunity to Like and get further involved, but where are you actually thanked for the purchase or download or whatever you did to deserve a thanks in the first place? Know what I mean?

Oh I am going to have to try this and also ask if my client would like to try it on her page also! Thank you for sharing this information!
