I found this article through @VAssistantville's Twitter feed about becoming a verified Google Author to stand out in search rankings. It is a way to link your Google+ profile to your writing's web search results. Does anyone have experience with this? The article says that these results will be pushed to the front of search results because you are "verified". They frame it as a way to get rid of spammy search results but it seems a little nefarious to me. That might not stop me from getting a Google+ profile...Any thoughts?

That's really interesting, thanks for the share. I have only skimmed over the article for now but it seems like a strategic step in getting more exposure for your website on Google so it is well worth looking into.

Hi Sandy - The article does seem to be well researched and thought out, and the resources she provides - such as drawing from SEOMoz and Mike Arnesan and a few other experts + the fact that Google really is the authority in how rankings happen. It's their algorithm after all - then it makes me take notice and want to learn more. If this is the direction that Google is going - it's their ballgame - so I think I need to take a closer look.

Not 100% sure that's answering your question. Just my first impression.
