You have been given some great resources. Have you checked out competition for this service? I sub out my graphics stuff so I base my prices on the quote from the sub but for we design I have different tiers. Keep in mind though that there are many people who want champagne on a beer budget so be sure to spell out the details.

Thanks Lee! We have checked competition, but as you mentioned, there are a lot of people that have a minimal budget and want a miraculous website. It's also hard to know whats right! Those links are helpful so I think we may be a bit more clear on what we should charge.

Get the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook –*the 2014 Edition is out now. As a designer, this is an indispensable resource that I use almost daily.

I just checked out the first link and it seems about right. I work with a graphic designer and we have priced a few packages which start with a basic static website and then go onto a jquerry website (scrolling). They range from $800-$3000 and add ons (extra pages, twitter facebook banners) cost more.
Included in all of our packages is an hour long initial consultation, and a basic coding session to show the client how to make modifications to their new website (so they don't have to keep calling us for minimal code changes).
We also have a very reasonable "graphics" package, ie a package where we will make banners for their facebook, twitter, and website that they can just plug into their theme.

It's really easy to create a range of affordable packages and I recommend not underselling the service, because the coder will have to spend hours working on each website!
