Default Pay Pal - Hard time receiving payment
I was wondering if someone can help me solve this problem.

I received a payment that has been pending for days. I called Pay Pal to inquire about it and to ask why are they asking me for a tracking#. I told them I saw some information on how to receive my payment faster instead of waiting for this 21 day hold to lift.

The Pay Pal Agent told me that the person selected "goods" instead of "services". I told her I provided him services. She then said "go ahead and refund him his payment and have him make the payment for "services" and not "goods". Well I did that and there is absolutely nothing that specifies this as an option. Am I missing something??

I even had him forward the invoice so I can see exactly what he did and there is nothing that says "services".

Can anybody, somebody help me figure this one out. I haven't a clue what to do next.

Also I'd just like to add, this is not the first time I've called Pay Pal's customer service and the all seem to have this "you should already know attitude". I totally HATE calling them. Can someone suggest another payment source with reasonable fees just as good as Pay Pal??

Thanks in Advance!

Hi Sharon,

So sorry you are having to deal with this. I have found that with PayPal...the nicer you are (talk slower, not blow up - not saying you did...but I have gone off on them before...LOL), but yeah, the more I act like "I really, really need you ultra intelligent people" (not saying they are not, I'm just saying I make sure to treat them as such) the more helpful they are.

Are you sending your invoices directly from PayPal? I totally agree..when I was sending PP invoices, the option to have the buyer change the type was not an option...that is ridiculous!

There are not many alternatives, but this is one recommended by a PayPal Complaints website here: (you may find some solutions to get this resolved ): http://paypalcomplaints.org/

This is the best alternative they offer: http://www.merchantinc.com/

It is supposedly an affordable merchant account, which everyone says we should have instead of PayPal.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck.

LOL, Tina too funny. But no, I actually didn't go off on them but I'm so over them right about now. Thanks for the info and your input I really appreciate it.

FYI: I actually emailed the client an invoice.... so annoying.
It's my first time ever being "officially" paid from someone I didn't know prior to services and I can't even get my money lol. Geez. Talk about embarrassing.

If they paid by electronic check this will cause a hold on the funds. Usually with first time clients the hold is the longest. Not sure why but this happened to myself and to a client. However after the first time it seemed like the hold only took a few days instead of a few weeks.

I am also curious if you sent them an invoice.

I switched from using PayPal to using Intuit Payment Network. https://paymentnetwork.intuit.com/. It's safe and secure and easy to use. Very similar to PayPal, but a lot less expensive. Only 50 cent fee for clients who pay by check. Credit card payment fees are reasonable, less than PayPal I believe. Can set it up to have money direct deposited to bank account. I love it.
