Thank you Julie for your detailed response. I just started using PayPal, and I did not know about the invoicing and virtual check features. Good to know, when I finally land my first client.

I believe Google Checkout also works in a similar way to PayPal....although I haven't used it directly. Google's fees are similar and very close to PayPals, so I just go with PayPal rather than also offering Google Checkout. People seem more inclined to want to set up a PayPal account than a Google Account if they don't already have one.

I use PayPal's email payments solution at the moment as it was the easiest to set up and receive money as well as direct funds transfers from my clients to the company bank account which means no PayPal fees. However, I intend to set up their Website Payments solution to make things seem more professional. Do any of you guys use that or recommend using that?

I was intrigued by my Scentsy consultant, she has the little gadget that attaches to her smartphone. I don't know the name of it, but she is able to swipe it right on the spot. My Mary Kay consultant has an app on her iPhone that allows her to take credit card payments right away.

I am new to the business and am still learning, but I look forward to the day I can open my doors and have the luxury of swiping a credit card from my phone. I am not a fan of Paypal
