I've considered using Square for both my VA business and my Jewelry business. I got a Square card reader in the mail, but just haven't gotten around to signing up for the service and trying it out yet. Well, I'd need business in order to try it out! lol

Since everyone is saying such great things about Square, maybe I'll try it!

I rec'd my Square card reader today in the post - it's pretty neat that they're sending them out for free. I've got an account on Square now but haven't yet had a chance to try processing funds through it yet... will post back if/when that happens!

I love the idea of swiping and getting paid without all the hassle. I use paypal for some die hard clients that sill belive in pay pal and google checkout for others. Just before christmas of this year, my online store new product will go live. I am going to outdoor flee markets this summer to test out Swipe. One of my clients, a Hair Stylist, has fallen ill to Cancer. I am hitting the road to help her sell her Makeup (She was a makeup artist to the stars) to help with her medical bills. So let see what it can do, it's better that having all those cords and wires running in my office to a merchant swiper.

There is a PayPal alternative to Square if you are using an iPhone/iPad. It is a credit card swiper from AppNinjas (https://appninjas.com/swipe/). You purchase the credit card swiper from AppNinjas and download the "Swipe" app. You can then set-up the account to work with your PayPal account. The only fees you will incur, after buying the swiper, are PayPal's standard processing fees.

I use this with a non-profit I run. Since I already utilized PayPal I really did not want to set-up another account with Square. The credit card swiper with AppNinjas has worked out great! (I use PayPal invoicing with my VA clients, so I have no need to run their credit cards.)

I love square! It's spoiled me to a point I don't even swipe anymore, it's via my android app. All my clients do now is type in their bank card number and POOF!! Email confirmation & receipt to follow...
And the processing time seems to get shorter and shorter with each transaction. People are always commenting on how ready I am at all times.

I use Intuit and use their CC payment option as well. 50 cents per payment. That's it. I don't collect CC info they input it on their own. I love Intuit and my clients love it as well.
