Default Accepting credit card payments
Has anyone used Volution for CC payments?? We are considering them but wanted some input first.

I will take a look at the google check as well. Why do you like that one?

Anyone know who is offering a virtual machine with no monthly?

Wow, this is really eye-opening about Paypal, sounds like I should do some comparing before settling on one. So far, I've only been accepting checks, but would like to add a CC feature. I'm afraid I'll get a bad check! Thanks for the reviews.

Paypal does not require an account for your clients to pay you. There is a setting in your account that, if activated, allows clients to pay with a credit card without an account. The fees are steep. I use them only when my clients don't want to pay by check. I've heard good things about Google checkout.

There is a lot of great information on billing in this thread. I guess coming into this business as a potential newbie, that is alot of detail into every thing that needs to be done in this business. Thanks so much for all the great insight.

Thanks for this information. I was leaning towards using Paypal, but may go with Google Checkout instead.

I have not heard of Volution. I use QuickBooks for my invoicing, and my merchant account works directly with QuickBooks. I believe it's Innovative Merchant Solutions (or something close to that). I have several retainer clients that I process their credit cards on the 1st of the month, then when the money is deposited into my checking account QuickBooks and the merchant account "talk" to each other and QuickBooks lets me download payments. The client can also click a button and either pay by PayPal or credit card.

Thanks for the feedback.. IMS..is a great company. Are they pricey? I am looking for one that only charges on the transaction similar to PAYPAL but not PAYPAL. A virtual machine if you will.
