This is definitely the way to run your business. You can't know or do everything. What not outsource to a team.

Re brand yourself Dream Team VA and run with it.

This was the basis for the name of my business, The Alliances. I certainly can't do all the things a client may need--I prefer bookkeeping and don't know how to a lot of graphic design--so my idea is to be the "go to person" for a business owner that needs a little bit of everything. I will see to it, by nature of having alliances, that their administrative needs can be met.

I have a network of experts in various fields that I've developed over the years I've worked online. There are some who are really good at working cooperatively and others who are not. As I work to deadlines I really need people who are available and so often especially with web designers and graphic people they are not readily available when I need them. so, I have a number of them I can refer work to. I do the content and get them to do the design.

Also I do a lot of customer service for creative people, designers etc. I handle their client correspondence and any complaints. so we help each other. Some is barter and some we pay each other just depends on the relationship. Works well for me.

Maybe you can pitch the idea at a local networking meeting and see if anyone is interested in joining your team.

I am really excited about all of the different avenues we can take as VA's. There are so many different things we can do to grow our businesses and that can be as a solo person or by hooking up with other VA's as subcontractors! Very valuable information!

Great post! This is something that I have been thinking a lot about myself. I have recently signed a contract with someone to sub-contract for me so that when I need her set of services I can call on her. I also sub-contract for others. I think having that support is a great idea. Just a little worried about how it will work out. Hoping it will prove to be a step in the right direction and bring me more business as I will be able to offer more services.
