Hi from Bay Area, CA.
Hi all, I just registered here after quite a while of lurking and reading all your wonderful advice. I am in the process of setting up my own biz (the very very beginning processes) and figured I would register here as everyone seems so nice and helpful

Welcome! Everyone here is very helpful and friendly, in my opinion. Starting your business can be fun but also frustrating. You'll find tons of great information here.
I'm originally from the Bay Area, Milpitas to be exact.

Re: Hi from Bay Area, CA.
Thank you all for your supportive comments I am still in the beginning stages of the business. Basically, I have decided that I want to try my hand as a VA but I still need to do ALL the other work towards setting up a business and web presence.. which seems quite daunting. I decided that I will get licensed as a Sol Prop so, I guess that will be my next step, then searching for a domain name, hosting co, designing a web page and well.. much much more

Well, while you're staring blankly at the daunting list of tasks ahead, just know that you are definitely not the only one in that stage of the process.
You will find lots of moral support here...
Welcome and Good Luck!!
P.S. I have family in Napa and Vacaville. Are you anywhere near there?

Yea, I actually live about 20-30 minutes from both of those cities . I am -eventually- considering moving to Oklahoma though.. hopefully with a virtual business it wont be too hard to switch over.

Re: Hi from Bay Area, CA.
Why exactly are you wanting to come to Oklahoma? I always ask people this because I'm curious how people end up here. We have a lot of people moving here right now from CA and AZ.

Re: Hi from Bay Area, CA.
The main reason is cost, everything here is insanely expensive, but the reason why I am thinking of OK is because my fiance is from there and misses it. Hes always talking about how great it is there, that the people are nicer, things are cheaper and the food is excellent, hehe.

Re: Hi from Bay Area, CA.
All very true. You will probably be surprised at how friendly people can be here. Granted, they aren't all - unfortunately. Things are a lot cheaper. People sell their houses there with no land and come here and buy up agreage. I know a woman from Oregon that moved here several years ago, but can't afford to move back because of the cost difference.
What area is your husband from?
