Hi Nick,

I too have been a member of both but now only keep an IVAA membership. I dropped my VAInsiders membership when I felt I just wasn't getting my money's worth. Earlier in my VA business, it seemed to be the perfect fit but as I progressed, I felt like I had outgrown it. That's not to say it wouldn't be exactly what you need because Tawnya does provide excellent resources and seminars.

I went to the IVAA Summit in Phoenix and was able to meet so many of the amazing VAs I had admired online. I must say I was just blown away by how welcoming everyone was and it was definitely an experience I would love to repeat! The IVAA Yahoo Group is great and I haven't once regretted buying my IVAA membership, my only regret is that I hadn't done it earlier in my VA business!

Thank You for taking the time to respond with some great supportive information. I am looking forward to joining the IVAA and hopefully I will have a couple of success stories to talk about soon.

I have also appreciated everyone's insight and will definitely join IVAA first as soon as I get my website built. I have enjoyed and appreciated everyone's wisdom that I have received on this forum. This has been a great launching pad along with LinkedIn.

@Nick - thank you for your advice and if I can swing it, I may join VA Insiders as I begin also. I have been enjoying her free advice and Facebook.

You may want to wait to join VAInsiders wait until Tawnya hosts the next VAVirtuosos seminar which is September 24-28th, 2012. Last seminar she offered 50% off the yearly rate, which I took advantage of. If she offers the same deal again, it might pay off to wait.

I've never been a member of a site like that, I'm not a believer in paying to receive job leads.

Are you on LinkedIn? There are heaps of VA discussion groups you could join (for free) to help get your name out there. Also think about groups where your potential clients would hang out. The key is to not spam and simply promote yourself, but be active, helpful and add to discussions.
