Not really sure if it is a good idea but....
Ok so I was hoping for some opinions. I was thinking that I might donate my time to some local charities to promote my company and then see if it would be ok to use them as a reference. I am just not sure if this is something that is considered unethical? Also I was thinking that in order to get my name out to the community that I would give away a few free hours to the first several clients that decided to use my services. Then if they decide to become paying customers see if I could get a reference letter. I was hoping for some feedback. Mostly I want to make sure that I am not being unprofessional.
