Can I just say thanks for this, thread, it is a good help in writing a covering letter to postings such as Craiglists. I will be using it and I will let VAF know how I get on.

I have had some success with Craigslist. My cover letter usually consists of some canned response and also includes information that I gleam from researching the company.

Wow! Thanks so much for this post. I am starting this new venture with a partner and am in charge of marketing & being the first VA. I was wondering the best way to draft a cover letter to approach an ad. Has anyone had success with this from Craigslist? So far I haven't had success.

Be very careful on Craigs List. I got a scam out of it. I was sent (for payment of my services) a $2500.00 check that turned out to be a fraudulant check. It was from a stolen account and it was printerd on a copy machine to make to look real.
