By now we've all found and used Craigslist and are familiar with the benefits such a site can offer us as virtual assistants in need of inexpensive (ie - FEE

) advertising - but did you know there are quite a few *other* sites you can use to facilitate the same goal?
When it comes to marketing, there's really no such thing as 'too much' - so check out the list of resources below and get your name and your business out there!

While we're on the subject, here's a great article entitled "How to Use Craigslist and Other Alternative Classifieds to Make Money Online"

This is perfect.
I love that I can log in here and find at least ten new items to check off my list of things I need to research.

Hi, thanks for the great sites. Another one to check out is Merchant Circle I listed my page there and was picked up by goggle very quickly.

Karen, thanks for the add! I'll update the original post to include it.
I'd taken a quick look at the site but passed it by in the meantime as I was just too busy to give it much attention - on your recommendation I'll give it another look.
Thanks again!

I use Merchant Circle, but haven't gotten any business from there.. If anyone has gotten a lead there, please let us know.. I did it as a trial and error

It DOES get picked up by google.. So on that aspect alone, it is worth it..

This is great! Thanks for these resources. I have used Craigslist a lot to sell items on and have always had good luck with it. I am looking forward to posting on some of these other sites as well!

Here's a relatively new site. I came across this when looking for sites to post a car. You can post ads. It's called HANDYLIST.ORG. I haven't posted anything on the site, but thought this would be another avenue. Here's the link: I hope it works.

As far as feedback for the list Tess gave.. I was wondering if members would post to their experiences with theses sites...

I"ll go first.

1. Craigslist--I have gotten a number of clients via here. This is always a great resource to fall back on..

2. MerchantCircle-- Although I haven't gotten any clients from here, My account at Merchant Circle continues to help my Google rankings..

3. Backpage--I have had a number of ads, this one is new to me, haven't gotten any clients via here, but am sure I will soon

3. Listsomething--I like this one.. am playing with some ads right now, seeing what works and what doesn't....

How bout everyone else??

I haven't gotten any hits yet with craigslist, merchant circle and backpage. Has anyone used OLX classified? No hits from there either but on a good note, as Jackie - google has picked me up from the ads.
