Ok, my husband and I settled on a name. But now I need to ask something else.

So what I need to do is fill out the paperwork on the Secretary of States website (you can file and pay online) and I'm come across a roadblock.

It asks for company name, what the company will be used for, duration of the company, and then it asks for "other provisions" and I'm drawing a blank. What do I put in "other provisions"?

I asked on Yahoo Answers and got an immediate response. Thanks.

We have filed. Now we just have to wait for approval.

Glad to hear you were able to get your question answered quickly

The VAs here are amazing and are great about answering anything that's asked, but we're all in the same boat (so to speak) - working at starting, building, or maintaining our businesses (maybe also working outside the home) and of course tending to family and personal life, so sometimes can't jump in right away.

I'd be curious to know what you learned - in case someone else is browsing the forums looking for the same information.

Sounds like you're getting all the pieces of your new business in place - congratulations!

I had been going to update this thread, then forgot I made it. Sorry about that.

It basically means "what is your business for". They want a description of what kind of business it is, who is involved, and what you are going to offer.

I said that "its a home based business servicing the hospitality industry with my husband and I. We do consulting, revenue management, desktop publishing, and other needed things like email management, contract negotiation with third parties and anything else that might be needed in a hospitality office."

Where do you find the information to file under that?

I'm having a hard time looking for my county.

Elizabeth,

SOS is Secretary of State and would not be on the county level.

Here's the MD link to the SOS http://www.sos.state.md.us/
