How to: use the forum search features

There are a number of ways to search Virtual Assistant Forums for the information and resources you're looking for. The most commonly used is the SEARCH option in the main menu of the site itself (top right). This search feature will search the entire site by keyword - you can choose to have your search results returned as each thread that contains your keyword, or each individual post that contains your keyword.

The main search feature also offers tag search (search threads based on the tags other members have added) and advanced search (search by keyword, username, prefix, tag, posts with a specific number of replies, etc.)

Below you'll see an image detailing where the main forum search option is - note the 'TAG SEARCH' and 'ADVANCED SEARCH' options.

There are also two additional search options on VAF - you can search inside an individual forum, and search inside a specific thread. Following is information on how to access and use both of these features:

To search inside an individual forum, navigate to the forum you'd like to search in and click on the 'SEARCH THIS FORUM' link in the top right hand corner, above the list of threads inside the forum (pictured below).

To search inside a specific thread by keyword, navigate to the thread you'd like to search in and click on the 'SEARCH THIS THREAD' link in the top right hand corner of the thread (pictured below)
