I use this service all the time! Not only is it a great resource but you have the satisfaction of helping others and in return it helps you free up some much needed space win/win situation.

I signed up again, and I forget how much fun it was. In this area they have many posters that are "dumpster divers" and they will send out a message telling you where the best 'curb furniture is'. I cracked up the first one I read.. they were like Hey there is a matress looks like a queen size and some baby toys over on such and such street, across the street is a dresser and next door to them is a futon.. trash pick up is 10am tomorrow you better hurry!

I don't think I've done that since I was a teenager!

Hiya! I belong to the 3 groups around where I live and the groups by where my parents live...there are alot of people 'wanting' things too. Sometimes there's more 'Wanted' ads than 'Offer' ads, but I guess it goes with the idea of 'Free', eh?
One of the groups moderators/owners, is VERY particular about what you post...some allow posting of animals and some don't. How about yours? Do you think postings to receive or give away animals should be allowed on Freecycle?

People post animals on ours too. I personally don't think it's wrong...as long as they aren't trying to give away their kids! LOL
There are some really nice people on mine (and others not so nice). Once this family "Wanted" a mechanic because they couldn't afford one and do you believe someone actually fixed their car for FREE!!! How awesome is that! Then we have others who take free things then turn around and sell them on Craig's list which I believe is very rude!

Thanks for resource. I had never heard of freecycle. I'm a craigslist junkie myself.

I am a huge freecycle junkie. I've got laods of nice things from there. Another lovely thing is when people collect (and appreciate) what I would have binned.

There is a great program, called Freecyle. I am member of this group in my area and I've seen many people offering their unwanted office furnitures for free. I've also seen people posting on freecyle looking for desk and was sucessful locating one.

Also...

If you wish to rid clutters or furnitures in your home to make more room for your office but don't have the time to take them to Goodwill or set up garage sales - you can turn to Freecyle and post items you don't want. Any interested party would come and take them off your hands.

You can check freecyle in your area and sign up for free.
Thank you for the info about freecycle.org. There is a freecycle in my town, and I signed up.

thanks for the great idea for office furniture. Leaving things behind as we move means we'll need to re-acquire some items, and it's great to hear of this site. Thanks!
