I think a PO Box is a great idea and the forwarding option is even better. I also wouldn't feel comfortable with a service scanning my mail.

After reading your post, I went to the USPS website and was pleasantly surprised to see that they have gone virtual, too. You can set up and pay for your box online but you have to enter the post office to finalize the transaction (show ID, pick up keys, etc.). And I love the forwarding your mail idea.

Just curious - why do you want to use a PO Box?

So our home address isn't posted all over the internet and so clients don't "pop" in unasked.

There are times when we need to go shopping and I look online for say a sports store. Last time I did a search I found plenty of "stores," but guess what, they were all in residential neighborhoods! They must have been online stores! It would have been a huge waste of time to drive to them only to find out I was going to someone's house.

I don't know why you don't want to use PO -- it is my personal preference not to because I did not like the sound of a p.o. compared to a street address.

now my situation has changed as we are gone from my home address, and are thousand+ miles away in motor home -- I have local (I am in Vegas) company like mailboxes etc (see what your community offers) -- I can pick up there, but also they forward to me wherever I may be - as often as I like -- etc.

I would suggest checking out various options in your local community -

Yes you can use a UPS box or Mailboxes Etc box and have a street address, but that's like double the price. If I could afford it I would. For now, a PO Box suffices.

Janine, that is an excellent idea and I believe that is what I will use for my business.

Thank you very much for presenting that to us all.

I have a friend that has an office in Beverly Hills I live in the Valley so in exchange for letting me use his office as my mailbox. I will do some fliers website update or other small things. believe me people are a 100 times more impress when I mention my offices are out of Beverly Hills. I when so far as getting a magic Jack and got a 310 number now that I see the benefits of this even if I had to I would pay for the usps mail box or even a ups mailbox.
Regards
Suave
