Hi,
On my business card I have Accountant since this is my specliaty. I did not put owner or virtual assistant but on my next set of cards I will probably put something of this nature. This was a good question that you raised.

I put Virtual Assistant because that will give the person a hint to who I am and what I do. I know many times I have been given business cards and can not remember who that person is or what they do.

Hi

I only have my name on the card - no title whatsoever. This was a calculated risk on my behalf. I didn't want Virtual Assistant, nor owner, director or proprietor as a title, so left it blank. My company name states pretty much that it is a virtual business, so hopefully the message will get across.

I show my title as Virtual Assistant & Bookkeeping Specialist. I went back and forth on this one too, should I have a title, maybe just owner, or principal. But ultimately I went with what I did, because there are still so many that don't know what a VA is, and this starts the conversation many times. My cards are somewhat unique and I spent alot of time on my design, so I already get comments about the card and the title only adds to the discussion

These are all some good ideas to chew on. I did not consider that the legality (LLC or Sole Prop.) of the business can influence what you can and cannot put on your business cards. Thanks for all the great input!

Just an idea - have more than one card especially if you have work (or plan to) from more than one source or type of relationship. I've gone with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and sometimes I use Independent Contractor. I kept the design of the card the same.

I just ordered mine and although I had toyed with owner I decided on Virtual Assistant. I don't want to walk away from a networking opportunity and the other people have a few cards in hand and can't remember what it is I do. The title virtual assistant should ring a bell when they look at it later
