These aren't all that original or creative, but I am trying to stick with key words...and trying to keep it reasonably short... this is not easy!!

And is there a recommendation here on whether to start out as LLC or Inc?

What is your focus? virtual desk, virtual support, support online, something else?

Re LLC or Inc - I highly recommend you speak to your Accountant about that. They would be in the best position to know how you are set up and what would work for you.

Kathie, I don't really have a focus at this point. Just virtual support in general. I have both a Mac and PC, I have worked in customer service/admin/support for about 10 years now... right now working for a company that builds homes. Handling all of their support work now that the admin assistant was let go, including AP/AR. So, I don't really have a focus. Also, I just learning about web design and want to offer that as part of my services.

Oh, and I also thought about vSupportSync.com - I like "sync", as in bringing things together for a business, streamlining things.

I think it's probably best you work just under your name for now till you have some idea. When you register a name that's just the beginning. Then there's the domain names, business cards, letterhead and other stationery, even logo design that's tied in with it. If you find your focus a bit later on then you may find the name you've chosen isn't suitable or doesn't reflect it properly.

There's nothing to say you have to have a business name when starting out and if you check with your accountant I'm sure you'll find you can operate legally under your own name. You can even purchase a domain for your own name and use that for now.

Jennie - Kathie's given you sage advice here. Really, people sweat over their business names, but you really ought to let it come naturally to you. If it's not there, and you're ready to start, plow on ahead without it! Much better than trying to change your business name later on.

What do you think about FloatDesk.com, tagline: Your virtual support desk in the Cloud...

Using "cloud" as a metaphor for the internet...

Or, Your virtual support source in the Cloud...

I'm thinking also that I can do a lot with cloud as a logo...it connotes new ideas, creativity, thought, dreaming... that kind of feeling, I think. And maybe get a designer to do a 3-D or very tactile type of logo...
