Thanks everyone for your comments. I went with the last logo in the end. As it is abstract, there won't be any more questions about whether it looks like a canary or another bird. I'm really pleased with the choice after a lot of going back and forth over the past few days so now I have to change all my templates, publicity etc but it's definitely worth it.
The last one is best. The typography and the box (I assume it's a laptop) is what I actually do not like. But the 'canary' on the first logo is what appeals most to me.
I like the abstract version - the last one but I do think the font should be changed - something to go more with the abstract drawing - more flowing or slanted. Sorry I'm not more definitive.
Thanks again for your comments and opinions. In the end I did choose the abstract logo and I've re-branded my website and documents (quite a bit of work!).
I like the one you just posted better than the others. To be honest, the others look like a dove or another type bird to me. This one is more abstract like you said but it still depicts a bird (wings) which is what I think you are going for. I like the fonts on this much better too. In my opinion, it looks more professional. This is coming from someone who TOTALLY agonized over my logo so I know what you are going through. Good luck!
