3 Simple Words for When You've Had Enough!

Some days are hard. Really hard. Things don't go as planned, we make mistakes, our to-do list piles up, we get confused about what to do next, we lose focus, we lose faith, we feel anxious, frantic, uncertain... the list goes on.
During difficult times, the use of affirmations can deliver the clarity we need to cut through the confusing mind fuss, restore our focus, and ground us in the moment. More than a mere positive thought, an effective affirmation is a phrase of intention to recite and repeat whenever a struggle or situation calls for it.
It doesn't take much searching to find affirmations for any cause, but sometimes there are so many options, it becomes a chore to keep those affirmations in order.
I had a good laugh with myself when I realized I had saved so many of these wise words on notes and Word docs, that I couldn't keep track of them! I had affirmations for better health, more money, less stress, deeper love, a fulfilling life. If you can name it, I had an affirmation for it. My bulletin board was a sticky note mess!
Then the affirmation of all affirmations came to me in just 3 simple words:
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
You are enough, period. No exclamation needed; it is a simple fact.
I took down all the other affirmations from my wall, and stuck these three words on my laptop.
At the start of my day, before I even open my computer, I am reminded, "You are enough."
Before I confuse my value with my to-do list, the number of messages in my inbox, or the amount of likes on my Facebook page, I remember, "You are enough."
Before I compare my worth to the balance in my checking account, the number of clients I have, or the never-ending feed of Tweets telling me about the newest way to improve myself, I recite, "You are enough."
When I close my laptop at the end of the day and wonder if I was productive enough, creative enough, or wrote a good enough blog entry, the words are there again, "You are enough."
Without your job, your accomplishments, your degree, your popularity, your wit and intellect, or your 401K, you are enough.
Without doing, having, or saying anything, you are enough.
When used often, these 3 words can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself on a daily basis. Post them where you can see them regularly. Carry them with you, and hide them around the house like love letters to yourself.
Then, at night, as you drift to sleep, nod off with this truth in mind:
Today, I was enough.
