The Best Motivation is Remembering Why

I have been feeling a bit discouraged lately as my life seems to be taking a shift. Although, one phase is coming to an end, completing my Associates Degree, and I begin a new phase, entering the university to complete Bachelors Degree; my professional life has come to a halt.
While enjoying the pity-party I threw for myself this afternoon, I was rummaging through some shelves in my office and found something I wrote 16 years ago when my dreams of self-employment were the glimmer of hope that helped me get through my cubicle-life.
As I read it I remembered why I choose this life, the entrepreneurial, self-employed, make my own destiny life. I sit here re-inspired, re-motivated, chin a bit higher, and confident that I made the right choice.
This is what I wrote:
Comfort Zone
I used to have a Comfort Zone
Where I knew I couldn't fail
The same four walls of busy work
Were really more like jail
I longed so much to do the things
I'd never done before
But I stayed inside my Comfort Zone
And paced the same old floor
I said it didn't matter
That I wasn't doing much
I said I didn't care for things
Like diamonds, furs and such
I claimed to be so busy
With the things inside my zone
But deep inside I longed for
Something special of my own
I couldn't let my life go by
Just watching others win
I held my breath and stepped outside
And let the change begin
I took a step with new strength
I'd never felt before
I kissed my Comfort Zone good-bye
Closed and locked the door
If you are in your Comfort Zone
Afraid to venture out
Remember that all winners were
At one time filled with doubt
A step or two and words of praise
Can make your dreams come true
Greet your future with a smile
Success is there for you
I had to giggle at the "diamonds, furs, and such" line as possession of those items is not indicative of success to me now. At the time I guess that was the best way for me to relate being successful.
