How to profoundly impress your clients every time

If you are a business owner in a service industry, you spend a lot of time marketing yourself to get new clients.Getting clients in the door is one thing. Making them want to come back (and tell all their friends and colleagues about you) is another.
You can leave a lasting impression on your clients and earn viable referrals by following these five tips.
1. Be friendly.
Yes, you need to dress and act professionally to show that you take your business seriously. But, don't forget to also be personable. Building your business is about building meaningful relationships. Your client needs to know, like, trust, and want to spend time with you. Make sure you put effort in to finding out more about the client's business, family, and personal values.
2. Be positive.
Try to avoid using negative phrases with your client. This would include, "No, I can't do that today," or "you're doing that wrong." Instead, always offer positive solutions to problems. Such as "I can fit that in to my schedule tomorrow," or "I know a way we can do that more efficiently." This will create a better work environment and make your client feel valued.
3. Be responsive.
If you really want to scare a client off, here's how to do it. Get a contract signed, receive your payment up front, then fall off the face of the earth, never to be heard from again. A new client will become very worried if you are unresponsive to calls or emails, or not giving updates on the project. Communication times should be agreed upon before the project begins, with boundaries set to protect both parties. It is important that you do what you say you will do. If you promise to respond within 24 hours, do it.
4. Show your appreciation.
As a service provider, it is important to make your clients feel appreciated. After all, you wouldn't be in business without them. Little acts of kindness can go a long way with a client, and it doesn't have to cost a lot of money to have a big impact. For example, always send thank you notes after receiving payments. Remember your client's birthday, and send a small gift, card, or flowers. Your client will appreciate knowing you sincerely care about them as well as their business.
5. Exceed expectations.
Most importantly, the client expects their projects to be completed accurately and delivered on time. You can really shine as a professional if you go above and beyond the client's expectations. Strive to complete the project well before the deadline. Triple check for accuracy before you send it to the client.
