Thanks so much to everyone helping me out with my question!! Sounds like there are some pretty good arguments to start a blog. When I sat down to think of blog topics I actually came up with some good ones to my surprise so when I get my website up I think I will give it a shot!

I think the big thing to do when coming up with ideas for a blog article is to think about your own experience that you have. Where have you worked? What lessons did you learn from working there? What are different ways for businesses in your field to use VAs? What are some horror stories you have heard? What are ways to prevent them? You'll be surprised at what you brainstorm! I was! lol

Tina, great ideas with commenting on other blogs! I could definitely see how that would be beneficial! Now I just need to find out what blogs my ideal client would mostly hang around... hmmm...

I too was wrestling with the idea of a "blog" and you ladies have convinced me that it's a good tool. I plan to peruse those of you who have them and take a few notes! Thanks so much for the help...as always.

I have a personal blog and a business blog - not linked to one another in anyway. I find it helps me focus in a way that only working on a specific project can. It's not brilliant, I am not a natural born writer though I do love it but I have a relatively good hit rating and I also made a commitment to post twice a week. I try to keep it focused on the industry and use the questions people ask me about the industry as blog fodder. What I will say is that some days I can write 5 posts and other days I have terrible writers block so the best piece of advice I can give is use the draft facility when you are feeling creative and the writing is free flowing and learn about your blogs scheduler because one thing people have told me over and over is that consistency of posting is key!

I am no expert I am just starting out so don't take my word as gospel - its just my little old opinion!

Blogging allows you to show just how knowledgeable you are in your particular niche, which is waht clients want to see when coming to your website. If you write something particularly interesting, people *hopefully* will share your blog post with others, encouraging people to your website and repeat visits.

Also - in terms of SEO, having dynamic content on your website (such as a blog) shows the search engine spiders that your website is fresh and updated regularly and encourages them to crawl regularly :-).
