I have attempted to do my first blog on the forums. I have also tried to do a blog on my website (which is in progress). https://sitebuilder.intuitwebsites.c...&displayNav=nI would

Congratulations on the new blog.

When I click on that link it takes me to an advertisement for Homestead.

Did you buy a domain for the blog? If so, that would be the link to the blog.

Hi Wendy, congratulations!

I just wanted to point out that you have your first blog post (on your VAF blog) listed as both the blog description and your first post.

If you go into you blog's control panel and edit your blog description to one or two sentences describing your blog then your posts won't be pushed so far down the page, and new posts won't have to compete with such a huge description for space.

Also, please do post back when you have your new blog's URL straightened out, I'd love to take a look.

Okay, back to the drawing board. I should eventually find out what I am doing wrong. The blog is not showing up on my website, just in the builder. This isn't as easy as it looks especially for me since I have never done a website or blog before.

Wendy, sorry to say it but I'm getting an error at that second link as well - I think you have to publish your site/blog before we can look at it... not sure how the intuit sites work though.

If you just want to try your hand at blogging for now, and not fuss with the website setup aspect of it all, why not just use your VAF blog here and then set up a blog on Wordpress.com. It's fast, it's free and you don't have to fuss with it.

Then, if/when you're ready to work on a site for yourself you can move your old posts over (fairly easily) to a Wordpress.org blog (where it's hosted on your own domain).

Just a thought! Whatever you do - don't give up

Dear Wendy,

In the beginning I struggled with getting my outside blog up and running. I spent a lot of time on the phone with my host, watching YouTube videos and asking questions here. So please don't give up.

Does Intuit offer phone support for the builder? Many do so if your membership offers support it is much easier to have someone walk you through the process.

Also check to see if Intuit has a forum like VAF and ask questions there. People are willing to help.

Google your questions because quite often someone else has asked the same question.

I like Tess' idea about using WordPress.com to get into blogging.

Please post back as I look forward to hearing how you are doing.

I'm unable to see your blog you may want to try again. I have a blog with a shop site added on to it but...I no longer have product for that shop and not sure what I'm going to do to fill that spot!! Eeek... so I havent been blogging for a while.

Had to go o sabbatical for a while as I have returned to work parttime and the new curriculum is taking up much of my time. But, not to worry, I will be at it again soon.
