I have both but prefer a laptop because of the mobility and freedom it allows. If you already have a PC in your home that is everyone uses then you can focus on getting something solely for your business. Depending on what your needs are and if you're the only one that will be utilizing it, then a laptop might be the way to go.

Hi,

Its all depends on your work. What you want to do with your machine. Mac is good for multimedia work as it has good resolution.

You can build your custom PC with little knowledge of hardware.

Both are using Intel based processors. You can install Mac OS on core to duo and above PCs.

You can have Mac OS+Windows using VM on Mac.

Lots of options. Hope i am not confusing you.

I have a PC laptop and just bought Macbook Pro yesterday. I was told by Apple that I could easily load Adobe CS5 (windows) on it but that has become more difficult than I was told/thought. I have decided to install windows on my Mac and use parallels. Simply because exchanging my last CS5 license from windows to mac is more difficult than purchasing/loading windows and there is a cost to it either way. :-( If anyone has any other advice on loading a windows CS5 on a Mac I would appreciate the input.
Thanks,

I want a MAC so badly! I have an iPhone; iPod and iPad; just need to make the transition to MAC and be APPLE all the way! I know that the conversion for most programs can be a bit tricky; but I'm sure it can be done. It is just a bit out of my financial reach at the moment!

I used a pc for years and years until about 3 years ago I got fed up with it and bought a Mac and love it. I use their Windows programs too. So I know both but would never go back to a pc.

I have a PC, a laptop and a mini netbook which are all Windows for the convenience of some of the software I use. If you're doing a lot of graphics work, I would definitely go with a Mac.

I found Mac to be useful for a lot of things creative. It is so much easier on Mac. My IPad goes where I go. My laptop has taken second place to the Pad.

What's boot camp?

I have a Mac and my entire household has Macs...except one son who refuses to come over.

I've not worked with Macs before, but last week I went to a friend's house to help her with a database project & she has a Mac. It is nice that it's all in the monitor & there isn't that big, bulky box with all those wires! And the mouse was ultra-sleek & modern!
