OK, at first glance this email looks legit, but you never know these days. I'm suspecting that its a ploy to get your password. So, just a reminder, if you get an email like this from anyone, NEVER, EVER, click on the link in an email. Whether you suspect its legitimacy or not, ALWAYS type the websites URL into your browser directly, or use a previously saved bookmark, to go directly to the website and log-in to your account.

Thanks for the info Serena. I'm glad to know it was legit. You just never know though, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hi Rebecka,

Thanks for the advice, I to received this email and was suspicious, especially considering I had just recently made changes to my facebook account.

Knowing it is legit really makes me feel better, and by using your advice I know that I am going to the right site.

Thanks again for the heads up.

It was legit. There was a post on TechCrunch about it.

I thought it was real when I saw it as it was up the top in the area where Facebook usually lets you know things. But it is important to stay alert.

I would question that too. Usually when I receive something from a site I go directly to the site without clicking on the link to see if I have a message about it. Normally I don't and it was a scam email but I usually try to be safe.

I forgot to add that I have received quite a few emails from "facebook" (or saying they are from facebook) telling me somebody commented on my status. However, they give only a first name and look nothing like the real emails I get from facebook. I never click on these links because they are fake. Just be careful and aware!

I agree, I think the best way is to just not click any links that you are unsure about. Today these scammers are finding new ways faster than ever before to defraud us.
It will just take a few seconds to type it into your browser, better safe than sorry..
