Default LTS scam preying on VA's - Mira Jones - lrecruit.com
Yesterday I stumbled upon a job ad seeking PA's to assist with administration and sales support. I could sense that something wasn't quite right, because the job description was vague and not even the company name was mentioned. I just received an email back from 'Mira Jones' with an immediate contract, no questions asked. She offered me the job before she'd even told me what it was about.

My suspicions were correct - it's a money transfer scam with a company called LTS.

An excerpt from the contract:

Quote:
When a buyer in the US decides to purchase an item through an online auction from our sellers he has the following payment options: pay pal, international wire transfer, international check, local certified check or local wire transfer. The quickest option of these is local wire transferring. Local wire transfers and certified checks are the options that the sales support representative will provide to the clients.
The website of the 'recruiter' (www.lrecruit.com) is invalid.

Thanks for taking the time to add this scam to the library - I don't know why but I'm always still amazed these things keep cropping up...makes you wonder how many people are falling for it - they must be making money scamming people or they wouldn't keep on doing this!

Thank you for adding the scammer name and web address to the subject line - i'd tried earlier but couldn't edit it. Reading about all these horror stories have led me to be extra cautious (bordering on downright skeptical) about job offers, particularly when they offer me a contract before even telling me what the job entails!

Absolutely - that's just nuts! Have you considered reporting them (or was nothing really viable to identify them thoroughly?)

I only have two email addresses I was given (Mira.Jones@lrecruit.com and Mira.Jones@juno.com) - the contract didn't even include contact information for the 'client' (pfft!). Not much to work with, I suspect.

I have also tracked down the link where I found the advertisement. I have sent a message to Customer Support warning them of the scam.
