IRS Email Scam Warning
I just wanted to warn you all about this email scam, because it does look very official. It has the IRS logo (can't see it here) and appears to have a real IRS email address.
- First of all, the IRS will NEVER email you and ask for your personal information.
- Secondly, if you direct deposited your tax return, the IRS already has your bank account info (trust me, they have ALL your info).
- Thirdly, if you didn't direct deposit your tax return or used a bank product to receive your tax return, you will be receiving a paper check from the IRS. NO EXCEPTIONS, you cannot send them your direct deposit info now and receive a direct deposit of your stimulus payment.
- Fourthly, I have already received my stimulus payment, so I know this is BS.
- Lastly, I didn't put my email address on my tax return or on any other correspondence to the IRS.
