I was checking my emails this morning when I saw one that was sent from a Lee Woods at 244 am this morning.
This is it:
From:Lee Wood Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 2:44 AM To: undisclosed-recipients: Subject: VA service needed urgently
Hello,
I would need your VA service as soon as possible.
Are you available to work?
Expecting to hear from you soon.
Regards
Lee Wood
*Apparently he sent the same email to other VAs too*. But I answered just to get more info before making up my mind.
Here is his reply :
Dear Joe,
Thank you for your fast response.
That is very professional.
I am Lee Wood from Canada.
I am engaged in online ecurrency exchange.
I am interested to purchase a type of voucher called paysafecard.
This is sold in stores in the USA.
I want to know if you can assist in purchasing this for me and I would pay
a commission of 5% for each transaction.
I would be needing about $3000 worth.
Do you have yahoo or gmail chat or Skype?
May be we can chat better.
regards
Lee Wood
*Obviously he got my name wrong, which is the first flag, just wanted to post here, wondering if anyone else got this?
Obviously this is a scam but wanted to alert my fellow VAs here at VAF.
Happy New Year to you all, hoping next year will be a good one for all of us!
Thanks for posting this JoCarole - it's so important to keep fellow VAs aware of these scams. I would hate to hear that anyone had fallen for one of these....
