Default Craigslist reporting
How do I report an ad to Craigslist for spam? I know Craigslist is not always to the great place to look for work. But I do know that it can be good, if you are careful.

The reply I got just sounds like a scam, especially when he mentions being UK and getting mail, etc for him. I think I have seen his ad/reply posted around here by other members.

Do you report it to Craigslist and mark his email as spam in your e-mail client? I don't think it is a good idea to reply to him. It totally screams scam to me!

His reply:

Attn CAC,

How are you doing today? I’m glad that your interested in the job offer, i will like to explain more on what exactly you will be doing.

Am actually looking for someone who can handle my personal and business errands at his/her spare time.

Craigslist has a link you can click to report spam. And, yes the email you got sounds like a scam for sure. It makes no sense that he would mail you packages to then re-mail. Why wouldn't he just mail them to the recipient himself?

Thanks for the quick reply. I flagged his ad as spam and mark it as spam in my email account. I just wish there were not people out there who ruin it for other people's ad.

Hi,

I've actually seen this post before....I am sure it is a scam. I also posted on Craigslist and will not do that again, I received so much spam, and some offers like the one above, which I reported and noted as spam. Live and learn......

Just have to add a note -- I post and answer posts on Craigslist. Have I come across scams - you bet; but I have come across legitimate posts as well. I personally and professionally know several people and companies who are reputable and who post on Craigslist. They are getting a bum deal. It is just a vehicle used - just like a newspaper etc. It is a tool -- if you choose to use it, use it wisely. It is so wonderful to have the community at VAF to help us with their experiences, insight, and counsel.

It's a total scam. I received it a while ago and I guess it's doing the rounds, along with all the other scams out there. Whether you post on CL or elsewhere, you'll get them from time to time. Just delete/mark as spam.

Thanks. It has been marked for spam. It is very sad that others make it so hard to find good clients/jobs out there.

mark it as spam in the ad on cl in the upper right hand corner, then copy and paste this post into a report on ripoffreport.com so others won't fall for it!

That's the hard part about Craigslist because some crafty people really make their ads look real. I just appreciate everyone's input, but will still browse Craigslist....just a bit more cautiously.
