Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I applied to some postings as well as posted my resume on Craigslist yesterday, and everyone of them have contacted me saying they're interrested or I am a front runner but all of them either have strings attached..things you need to do or purchase before getting an interview or the English/grammer is so bad it is very off-putting. Has anyone gotten a creditable lead on craigslist lately???

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I have notice that myself. The jobs sometimes seem too good to be true, that should have been the clue there. But I'm so determined to get my business up and running that I answer the ads in hope that at least one of them will be legit. You are not alone!

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I just posted my services on Craigslist and I have to say I was a little skeptical, but I will give a try.

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I thought about that too. I've been trolling looking at some of the ads from others who are seeking assistants. I wonder if offering my VA services to them would bring forth any fruit?

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I've gotten some great jobs from Craigslist. You definately have to search - like a needle in a haystack - but they are there.

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
My latest client is from CraigsList.
In fact, I had let the ad expire but he had done a search in my area, my ad popped up so he gave me a call.

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
That is definitely encouraging. Although I don't give up, but most of the ads I answer are not legitimate. I haven't tried answering ads outside of where I live but may I should. Thanks again!

That's encouraging news. I, too, have checked CraigsList and have been very discouraged.

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I posted an ad on Craigslist and received an email inviting me to Craiglist emailer. Has anyone heard of this, and how does it work, and is it legit?

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
My experience has been do not respond to ads for help wanted on CL, that just brings scammers and idiots. Post in small business - I believe you are allowed to post every 3 days and it costs nothing in most places. Let genuine people come to you. By responding to ads you are laying yourself open to spam, phishing and all sorts of other nasty things we have no time or patience for.

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
You're so right Wordpro!
I should have explained better, I don't search for 'jobs' but I have 4 ads placed. I've got them in different cities and categories; small biz ads, financial services, and computer services. This way I reach a broader range of people.
It can be a bit confusing when posting & reposting but thank goodness CL uses colors to differentiate the ads!

I also posted in Craigs list - but nothing turned out yet! Not giving up. You do have to be careful there are a lot of scams!

Re: Are any jobs on Craigslist NOT a scam
I got one credible lead and he's still my client. But that's 1 out of replying to probably 50 listings. After a while you can tell if they're legit, e.g., salary: 35k to 70k means not legit to me. I keep looking though and scrutinizing.
