I'm sure we can get you set up here with a few quick fixes.
I'm familiar with SEO
, and with Wordpress, but not specifically any widgets or add ons for WP that help enhance SEO
. So, my suggestions are based solely on research (ie - looking for the most simply-worded tutorials on how to update SEO
for WP.) I hope this helps
First - to get the rest of your blog/site indexed on Google you'll want to submit what is called a Google Sitemap. Here is a how-to specifically for Wordpress
Another way to get indexed faster is to start submitting your site/blog to directories and INCLUDE the RSS feed whenever possible. Check our industry directory
for a list of places to submit links or just start with Directory Critic's free list
which is so long it'll keep you busy for weeks.
Second - here is some info
on how to update your page titles in Wordpress.
Another important way to optimize your WP blog (and any blog for that matter) is to realize that your permalinks are a major clue for search engines what your content is about. Your permalink is essentially your blog post TITLE coupled with your Blog's title (on some blogs) and the date of the original post. Here's a how-to to better optimize WP permalinks.
(needless to say, if your post titles aren't linked, they absolutely should be!)
Now, adding the meta tags and description is a bit more complicated - I tried to find a plugin for you (this is the answer recommended on Wordpress' own forum so should be right on target) the thing about this is that it does involve mucking around in the code (which can be tricky, especially if you're not familiar) but if you're feeling brave...go fot it Add MetaTags to Wordpress Plugin
Another important key to keeping a blog, or site, 'active' in the search engine results is to update your content frequently, bearing in mind your keywords and what kinds of things people might type in to find you. Search engine spiders love new and original content, so keep writing in your blog and updating your site!
Good luck with all this
