Default Help! Wordpress is frustrating me!
I don't know what is going on. I just did a post. I have the "recent posts" widget on the side, but when the name of the post shows up, it doesn't actually make that a link. Isn't it supposed to? And I keep trying to put space in between the paragraphs, but then it just shows up all scrunched together! What is wrong with this?

Well, this one isn't a virtual assistant blog, so I'm not sure if I can post it here. I'll PM you.

It doesn't even work when I try to click "view this post" when I am in the manage posts section and trying to edit.

It sounds like it's a problem with your chosen theme maybe? I'd be happy to take a look to if you like.

Yeah it probably is because of the theme. Try choosing another one. As for the spaces, try writing it first on a separate document like notepad or word and then just copy paste. It would definitely save you the frustration of rewriting again if it doesnt work.

Im using the Pressrow Theme by Chris Pearson. When I go to my dashboard, click on the Manage tab, it shows me my posts. When I click on a post title, it directly leads me to the edit page.

Thanks everyone! Becki helped me get it corrected.

I had to change the custom title from %posttitle% back to one that has the date and name of the post. Not exactly the best option, but my pages still say mydomainname.com/pagename so I guess it will be ok. It probably is something in the theme I chose that caused that to happen, but I've put so much customization on the theme that I really don't want to have to change it.

Now ALL of my pages have the wording centered. Even ones that I didn't center it when I wrote the page. I have no idea what I did. It seems like when I fix one problem, then there is another.

Perhaps its WP itself. Lately it has undergone an interface change and maybe the guys behind WP are ironing out the kinks.

Breanna, Help!!

This is so frustrating! Now I am seeing a favicon that isn't even an image in my folder. I did make one and replace the one that came with it but this is showing something else entirely. And every once in a while, my blog shows up on my home page instead of the static home page.

Could this be happening because I am trying to add plug ins or is it just a bug in the new version of wordpress? Or could this really just be the theme I'm using? I really don't want to have to change. I had a hard time finding one that could be customized the way I wanted it without a lot of big time changes.

Oh, help!

Ok, it's official. I hate wordpress! Now all of the links to my pages are showing up as error pages, and in the admin area, it says there are no pages while at the same time it says there are 15 published pages. ut:

This site is just a side thing, not my main business by any means. I went with wordpress because I thought it was going to be easier, but it looks like it really isn't.

Hi Tami, I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a hard time of it! I'd love to be able to help you but Bri is our resident WP expert an my working knowledge of the program is relatively limited...
Is it possible it's just the template you're using? I know it feels like a lot of work to start over, but it sounds like you're at the point where you're cleaning up rather than moving forward. Maybe a fresh start would make more sense now?

Hang in there!!

Woo hoo!! I figured out why everything was centering itself!

Oh, and my pages came back too. Don't know what that was all about. ut:

So, now if I could just figure out why some of my print is so large and why some of these plug ins don't seem to work, I think I'd be doing pretty good.

What is the best way to back up a wordpress site? I saw that back up plug in, but I must have done something wrong because it didn't seem to work.

Inquiring minds want to know! Why was everything centering itself? I couldn't see it in the CSS code. Where was it?

Jeanne,
When I entered one of the widgets in the left sidebar, I didn't close the center tag on the image. I figured it out quite by accident when I tried to enter a widget underneath it and noticed that the title of that widget was also being centered. So that one widget was messing all of the rest of the wording on the page.
