I worked all day on this website and wanted to get some opinions from you wonderful VA's. I don't have my number or fax number on there yet because I'm waiting for my business phone service.

What are your *honest* opinion?
What am I missing? (Coz I feel like I'm missing something)

I had a hard time loading your site so passed the thread by initially - it still takes ages to load [not sure why] but I can see the pages now so here are a few suggestions:

I love that you have your own smile on your 'about us' page - you have a very photogenic face and I say, make the most of it!

I'm not sure why there is a trend away from branding with new VA websites, but I would recommend spending some time developing one - a logo and relative design theme would do your website and your business image online a lot of good.

Also, I don't understand why the @ symbol before your tagline?

You've got that great orange band of color in the website header - why not use that color to spice up your content with the same color links? The pages don't particularly draw the visitor in, which is your goal of course - so whatever you can do to add more energy and vibrancy to the pages would be a step in the right direction.

I know it can be a LOT of work getting a website set up - and you should be very proud of yourself for a great start. I think you'll find that your website will always be a work in progress, so take your time and work with it to make it better as new ideas come to you.

Keep us posted on your progess, I'd love to see what your site looks like in another couple of weeks!

Several suggestions
1. I agree with everyone about "spicing" it up a little. Using the orange or another key color.

2. You alternate between "we" and "I" in several areas. Reading it I'm not sure if it is a one person office or a group of people. As a potential client I would want to know if I'm working directly with you.

3. You give office hours - I'd delete that. You are your own boss and keep your own hours. You can discuss your "open" hours with potential clients, but I suggest taking it off the site. If I saw your site and was in NY I could feel that there is a small window of opportunity for me. You open later than I do and close earlier.

I personally like having the group "critique" the sites. I'm working on mine now and look forward to getting the positive feedback.

Thanks so much! My goodness, I don't know what I would do without this forum! Thanks ladies!

Your page loaded ok for me, I like the colors but I don't think the Logo goes with the rest of the site. Perhaps you could use that burgundy color from the logo and Name in the links of your site. Also the Contact Us page "Contact Us" is not formatted the same way as the other pages. You'll figure it out. I haven't been here for a few days, otherwise I would have had a look earlier. Have fun, see you on the forums!!
